Prime Minister Instructs Swift Payment of Dues to Contractors

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has issued directives for the immediate payment of outstanding amounts owed to contractors by the government. The instruction was given during a discussion between the Prime Minister and construction entrepreneurs at his office.

The meeting, attended by Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala, Chief Secretary Dr. Bikuntha Aryal, Finance Secretary Dr. Krishnahari Puskar, Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Keshav Kumar Sharma, and Director General at the Department of Roads Sushil Babu Dhakal, focused on addressing the financial concerns of the construction entrepreneurs.

Prime Minister Dahal instructed Finance Minister Mahat to promptly release the outstanding amount of Rs 1.71 billion from the previous fiscal year and Rs 6.30 billion due in the current fiscal year. This move is expected to accelerate development construction projects, fostering economic activity in the process.
